Fees for Broken MXU on Meter Lids

All residents should use caution when mowing around their water meters.  The meters that the city began installing in late 2019 are equipped with an MXU on the lids. This device reads you meter, sends the information to local Georgia Power towers, and then downloads to our water meter system.  When these devices are hit by lawn mowers, weed eaters, etc. they will no longer send reads.  We are asking residents to be careful when mowing around these devices & to please advise your lawn care service if you use one.  If your device is damaged there is a $350.00 fee to replace the device.
