ELECTION DAY: NOVEMBER 4, 2025 Voter registration requirements: To register and vote in Georgia, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be a U.S. citizen.
- Be a legal resident of Georgia and the county where you wish to vote.
- Be at least 17 ½ years old to register and 18 years old to vote.
- Not be serving a felony sentence.
- Not have been deemed mentally incompetent by a judge.
Voting methods: Georgia provides multiple ways to cast a ballot:
- In-person early voting: Also known as absentee-in-person voting, this allows voters to cast a ballot at any designated early voting location in their county.
- Absentee-by-mail voting: Any registered voter can request an absentee ballot. A request must be received by 11 days before Election Day.
- Election Day voting: You must vote at your assigned precinct on Election Day. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m..
- Provisional ballots: If there is an issue with your registration at the polling place, you can cast a provisional ballot.
Identification requirements: When voting in person, you must show a valid photo ID. Acceptable forms include:
- Any valid state or federal-issued photo ID, such as a Georgia driver's license.
- Valid U.S. passport.
- Valid U.S. military ID.
- Valid tribal photo ID.
- A free voter ID card issued by a county registrar's office.
